Items related to the schools attended by the various members of the Beatles are often highly sought after. School photos are particularly popular and valuable among collectors.
We have two of the old long school photographs from the Liverpool Institute for Boys going into our forthcoming Liverpool Beatles Memorabilia Auction.
The first is from 1956 and includes both Paul McCartney and George Harrison (Neil Aspinall and Mike McCartney are in there too.)
The photograph is rolled (which is how they came at the time) and carries an estimate of £900-£1200
The second is from 1960 and is badly damaged but comes with a full size reprinted version.
It includes Paul McCartney (George left the school to work as an apprentice before this photograph was taken) and Mike McCartney should be on it too.
The estimate on this photograph is £500-£600.
Staying with the Liverpool Institute but unfortunately items without Beatles contents we also have the following two lots going under the hammer.
Three Institute Magazines from 1960, 1961 and 1963.
Estimate £30-£40
Two Institute Speech Day Programmes from 1963 and 1964
Estimate £30-£40
