Vintage pampering

There was all kinds of merchandising featuring the Beatles in 1964. This talc tin from Margo of Mayfair is a very displayable item.

The estimate for this item is £120-£140

If Drumming is your madness....

This toy New Beat drum dates from 1964 and features a replica Ringo signature on the drum skin, and a colour Beatles image on the drum body.

It's a striking piece that would look great displayed on a wall or in a cabinet. We have a Ringo drum (of a different design) on the wall in the shop and it gets lots of attention and comments from visitors.

This drum is offered in our auction in August and carries an estimate of £180-£200

We all live in an original box!

We already have some original Yellow Submarine Corgi toys in this year's auction, however this one is in lovely condition and, more importantly, is in its original box.

The box has some wear and tear, and the item carries an estimate of £250-£300.
The value comes from the box, as very often they were simply thrown away once the toy was taken out to be played with.

Lennon on the radio

These Lennon radios were an early "cash-in" item on the death of the Beatle. Dating from early 1981 they feature a demin clad Lennon doll that stands on top of a radio emblazoned with his name and the years of his birth and death.

Bizarrely the body of the doll is actually that of an Elvis doll manufactured to go onto a radio that was issued to cash in on Presley's death three years earlier.

This item carries an estimate of £30-£40.

Plastic George

I can never quite decide if I like these Remco Dolls or not. I think this one is growing on me though, and with an estimate of £50-£60 they are obviously collectible.

This 1964 NEMS licensed George Harrison doll complete with guitar will be in our auction at the end of August.

Membership Cards

The most famous club from the Mersey Beat era is of course The Cavern Club. As the club rarely issued tickets for concerts the membership cards tend to be closest thing collectors can get to a ticket to a Beatles gig at the venue. This makes the cards covering the years that they played the venue more valuable than those of later years.

This Green 1962 Cavern Club Card is going into our Auction this year. (The cards came in various colours green and red ones seem to be the ones we see the most.) It has an estimate of £140-£150.

As the number of music groups in the city rose so did the number of venues for them to play. Most had some kind of membership card.

This small selection of membership cards from Liverpool clubs in the 60s carries an estimate of £20-£30
(But it's worth noting that had the Jacaranda Club card not been from 1965, but from a year that the Beatles would have played the club it would be worth around £1000)
