2022 Beatles Auction - VERY IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING COLLECTION OF LOTS

For people attending the auction in person and unable to take items away immediately after the sale - 

Cato & Crane Will be open on Sunday 28th August morning between 10am & 12noon for collection and payment of lots from this year's Auction. 

With prior notice, you may also arrange the collection of your items from The Beatles Shop on Sunday or Monday between 10am & 4pm.

Please note after Monday lots will be for collection from Cato & Crane ONLY.

How To Buy From Our Auction

Register with the online auction services above and you can leave a proxy bid or bid live on the day. 

At the venue, you will need to register to bid (we take your name, address, phone number, email if you have one and hotel name if you have travelled to the event). You'll get a paddle/bid number which you will need to give on being the successful bidder.  You will also be required to pay for your items on the day or as soon as possible afterwards. You will not be allowed to take possession of the items till full payment is made. 

There is a buyer's premium of 22% (plus VAT on that percentage) of the hammer price. Online bidders will also incur fees from whichever platform they use to bid, please check these before bidding. 

There will be postage charges for items to be mailed out to winning bidders. 

Payment at the venue can be in cash or via credit/debit card in person. They cannot take card payments via the telephone. 

Payment via the online auction services is handled by the services themselves.

2022 Beatles Auction - Charity Item! McCartney Street Banners and Roundels used on Mathew Street for Paul's 80th Birthday

These street banners and roundels were used on Mathew Street in Liverpool for a week transform it to McCartney Street in honour of the city's famous octogenarian.

They are being sold in our Annual Liverpool Beatles Auction to benefit the Liverpool Lord Mayor's Charities. 

The banners are being sold as separate lots with an estimate of £100-£150 each and there are two roundels being sold together also for an estimate of £100-£150.

2022 Beatles Auction - Full Set of Beatles Autographs from The Royal Variety Performance 1963.

A set of Beatles Signatures on two pieces of paper, obtained 4th November 1963 at The Royal Variety Performance Prince Of Wales Theatre.

Comes with a full letter of provenance and a photograph of John Lennon signing the page, Ringo Starr is also in the picture

A typed note on Hogs Hill stationery to recording engineer, Geoff Emerick, from Paul McCartney, jokingly telling him to watch out for rampaging Beatles fans. Signed by Paul, including face doodle and handwritten PS.

 There are several lots of photographs from the collection of Beatles Fan Club secretary, Freda Kelly, going into this year's Liverpool Beatles Memorabilia Auction. 2022 Beatles Auction - Charity Item - Net Curtains From Ringo Starr's House.

These net curtains belonged to Margaret, who lived in Ringo's old house, 10 Admiral Grove, for many years and welcomed Beatles fans worldwide. They will have been seen in several tourist photographs over the decades.  The house's current owner has decided to sell them off to raise money for charity. The proceeds from selling this item will go to the Carla Lane Animals in Need charity in Liverpool. 



The estimate on this lot is £20-£30 

(please note, that the curtains do not date from Ringo's time in the house.)

 The 2022 Liverpool Beatles Memorabilia Auction will take place at Cato Crane Auctioneers on Saturday 27th August, starting at 10am. It will also be online.

The catalogue will be available online and links will be added here as soon as all the details are finalised.

The viewing day will also be at Cato Crane Auctioneers on Friday 26th August from 10.30am to 4pm.

2022 Beatles Auction - Rare Complete Beatles/Roy Orbison Tour Handbill 1963

 This handbill for the 1963 Roy Orbison tour feating The Beatles still has its booking slip attached. These were usually snipped off by fans purchasing their tickets for the show. 

It is for the 19th May show on the tour at the Gaumont in Hanley. 

This item will be going under the hammer this August in our Annual Liverpool Beatles Memorabilia Auction and it is expected to sell for anywhere between £1200 and £1500.

2022 Beatles Auction - 1959 Cavern Club Flyer/Handbill featuring Rory Storm and The Hurricanes

This rare 1959 flyer/handbill for the Cavern Club in Liverpool lists the band Rory Storm and The Hurricanes playing on 19th December. The band famously featured a pre-Beatles Ringo Starr. 

The flyer will be going under the hammer in our forthcoming Liverpool Beatles Memorabilia Auction and the current estimate is £1200-£1500
