The Only Honorary Beatles Fan Club Member!

At the age of four Russell Jamieson was already an huge Beatles Fan!

The jacket Russell is wearing in the picture was specially decorated for him and he even had a tiny pair of Beatles boots. His story appeared in the local press and he was adopted as the youngest and only honorary member of the Beatles Fan Club. He got to meet his idols and even got tickets to watch them record Juke Box Jury at the Liverpool Empire. He was also sent a full set of Beatles autographs with a personal message for their youngest fan.

Several items from Russell's personal collection are going to be up for sale in our annual Liverpool Beatles Auction. These include his jacket, the autographs, his boots and several letters from the Fan Club, Tony Barrow and from Beatles fans who wrote to him after his appearance in Beatles Monthly Magazine.

The jacket and autographs are being sold in one lot with an estimate of £7000 while the boots are being sold along with some of the letters from Beatles fans and are estimated at £100-£150.

The estimates on the other letters will be available in the auction catalogue, available in early August.

Jerry Lee Lewis Tower Ballroom Ticket

This ticket for the rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis has a Beatle connection. His backing band The Echoes were without a drummer and as Rory Storm & The Hurricanes had not long returned from a stint in Hamburg, Ringo Starr sat in as the drummer on this gig!

This mint condition ticket carries an estimate of £60-£80 and is due to be auctioned in the Annual Liverpool Beatles Auction organised by The Beatles Shop. This year’s event takes place at the Paul McCartney Auditorium at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts on Saturday August 25th 2012.

Beatles Lamps

These table lamps were produced in the 70s (though sometimes people mistakenly label them as original 60s products). They came in a range of colours and feature designs on both the lamp base and the shade.

The estimated for the lamp still in its box is £120-£150

Street Signs

Up for auction in August are two Beatle related street signs.

Mathew Street, home to the Cavern Club and the Grapes Pub.

and Forthlin Road, the street where Paul McCartney once lived.

These sign have an estimated value of £70-£90 each.

All He’s Got To Do Is Act, Naturally.

Ringo has appeared in quite a few films in his time, and we have advertising posting for some of them going into our auction in August.

The shirt off John’s back!

You may recall that last year we sold a piece of Paul’s shirt (click here for the blog post) for £220. This year we have a piece of shirt that used to belong to John Lennon.

As with the Paul item it comes with a note from the time from Freda Kelly, the fan club secretary, explaining about the origins of the piece of material.

The estimate for this item is £250-£300

Two Drummers

This page from an autograph book features signatures from both Pete Best and Ringo Starr.

It’s quite unusual to get both signatures together on one item.

The autographs are going up for sale in our auction in August and they carry an estimate of £100-£120

Have A Bath With Ringo

This cute “Soaky” bubble bath is Ringo shaped. Though to be honest if there’s anything inside it I doubt it would make for bubble bath time fun after all these years.

However the bottle is still highly displayable making it a fabulous piece for a collector’s shelf! It’s has an estimate of £80 - £100 and will be sold in our annual Beatles auction this August in Liverpool.

Rare Iron Door Newsletter

The Iron Door Club was situated on Temple Street in the city centre of Liverpool (there’s a plaque in place today showing its location).

It began as a jazz club but made the inevitable move to becoming a rock and roll venue, and the Searchers were the famous resident group.

It also produced a short lived newsletter for its patrons.

This is the front and back cover of issue number three dating from May 1964.

This excellent document of Merseyside music history is going up for sale in our August auction with an estimate of £50-£75.

1964 Liverpool Echo

This issue of the Liverpool Echo newspaper dates from 11th July 1964, the day after the band's triumphant return to the city for the Northern Premiere of A Hard Day's Night.

It features a full page photograph on the front and an eight page souvenir.

This copy is in our auction in August and carries an estimate of £20-£30.
