This 1960 Cavern
Club card still refers to the Liverpool Jazz Union.
The club was
originally for just jazz, with no rock and roll allowed.
Eventually
they allowed skiffle bands to play and from there it was a slippery
slope towards the sound that would shake the world.

The Cavern Club continued to be a popular venue throughout the 1960s. The Beatles brought the club into the limelight and it continued to host bands until it was closed in the early 1970s. This Cavern Club membership card features a cartoon cave man on the front and dates from 1970s.
