This copy of the Love Me Do/PS I Love You single is a demo version sent out to radio stations to promote the track. It’s believed that as little as 300 of these exist.
The label is a white Parlophone A label featuring the wording “Demonstration Record – Not For Sale”
The writing credit on both sides read “Lennon-McArtney”
Imprinted on the run out groove on the A side is ZT, JR and 7XCE 17144-IN and on the B Side – ZT, JR and 7XCE 17145-IN
This rare single is to be sold in the Annual Liverpool Beatles Auction in August and carries an estimate of £1600-£2000
The auction takes place on August 27th 2011 at The Paul McCartney Auditorium at LIPA.
It is organised by The Beatles Shop on Mathew Street, where lots are still being taken in up until June.
